The Latin Orientals are a subtle and perfect balance of two arts of perfumery. They marry the sophisticated discretion, fineness of the French floral tradition to the power and opulence of oriental culture, fruitful source of inspiration, where spices, woods, resins and balsams evoke culinary customs and ways of perfuming.

Thanks to commerce, the Occident met the Orient and discovered a “savoir-faire” which was raised to the rank of Art. From the Middle-Ages to the Renaissance, especially around the 18th century, customs evolved. Fascinated by the art of fragrances, the Europeans started to compose lighter, fresher scents with a subtle floral dominant note, very distinct from heady oriental perfumes.

The warm orangey colors of oriental spices surround the delicate weaving of the doors’ moucharaby, on an alternation of black, depending on whether it is a fragrance for women or for men. The high positioned lock, expresses mystery, temptation and a forbidden world. The key, held by a cord finely crafted and tied around the neck of the bottle, is placed on the transparent glass and opens the doors to a world of delights and pleasures.
